DELTA

Greece 2025 — Directed by: Vivian Papageorgiou — 76 min — Spoken language: Greek — Subtitles: English — Producer: Ioanna Petinaraki — Editor: Maria Kounavi

Across the Delta of the Pinios River, a resilient community of coastal fishers navigates the seasons, their stories unfolding against the constant presence of water.

At the Delta of the Pinios River, beneath the towering presence of Mount Olympus, a small community of coastal fishers works from dawn to dusk to preserve a way of life shaped by tides, weather, and tradition. Over the course of a year, the film observes their routines and rituals, repairing nets, tending boats, sharing stories — capturing moments of humor, hardship, and quiet perseverance.

As the landscape transforms with each season, water remains the community’s constant companion: a source of sustenance, challenge, and deep connection. Through intimate encounters and the voices of those who depend on this fragile ecosystem, the film paints a portrait of resilience and belonging on the shifting edge between river and sea.
