ROOMS — Finland 2025 — Directed by: Antti Lempiäinen — 38 min — Spoken language: Finnish — Subtitles: English — Production Company: Superreel Productions — Producers: Eliel Kilkki, Antti Lempiäinen

In a country celebrated as the world’s happiest, one man struggles to survive the cold streets of Helsinki after losing his home and family.

Shot on the streets and surrounding rocks of Helsinki, ROOMS reveals the darker side of the Finnish welfare state by following Janne, a father of five who becomes homeless after a divorce. While the nation is hailed as the happiest on Earth, its not-so-lucky residents fight to endure the freezing winter nights.

Anchored in Janne’s wandering daily existence, the film reflects on the lived experience of homelessness, contrasting the protagonist’s interior world with the harsh reality of the streets. Through quiet observation and stark winter landscapes, ROOMS exposes the fragile spaces in which survival, dignity, and hope must coexist.
