A young Afghan family lives in Turkey with their three children. The husband and wife work a total of 138 hours a week—he at night, she during the day—leaving only 30 hours together. Rafi, a former Afghan TV writer, actor, and host of a popular comedy show, fled Afghanistan in 2020 after receiving threats from the Taliban. After a year in Iran, the family settled in Manisa, Turkey. Rafi works in a concrete factory and his wife in a kitchen, each working 12-hour shifts, while their children spend several hours alone at home each day.
