Call for Submissions: DocsBarcelona 2026

Our member festival DocsBarcelona has opened submissions for its 29th edition, taking place from 7 to 17 May 2026.

Filmmakers can submit their works between 15 September and 15 November 2025, with an Early Bird deadline until 31 October. The festival will once again present a rich programme of screenings, activities, and international guests, alongside six competitive sections and a major retrospective. More than a dozen prizes, valued at nearly 20,000 euros, will be awarded.

The industry platform DocsBarcelona Pro will run from 9 to 14 May 2026, providing opportunities for projects in development through Public Pitch, Rough Cut Pitch, New Tech Pitch, Speed Meetings, Campus DocsBarcelona, and artistic consultancies. The call for projects will open on 9 December 2025.

DocsBarcelona continues to be an important meeting point for filmmakers, professionals, and audiences, offering a diverse and engaged selection of contemporary documentary cinema.
