    Barcelona, December 9, 2025 – DocsBarcelona has officially opened its call for projects to participate in the various support, mentoring and funding programmes offered by DocsBarcelona Pro, the festival’s professional marketplace. The call is open until Friday, 30 January 2026, and submissions must be made via Docs&Me.

    From 9 to 14 May 2026, DocsBarcelona Pro will once again serve as the main meeting point for the non-fiction industry in Southern Europe, bringing together filmmakers, producers, sales agents, distributors, broadcasters and decision-makers from around the world.

    One of the major highlights of the 2026 edition is the doubling of the total award value, which now amounts to nearly €60,000, including €42,500 in cash.

    Six programmes tailored to different project needs

    DocsBarcelona Pro is open to feature-length documentary films, non-fiction series and immersive projects at various stages of development, production and post-production. Projects directed and/or produced by professionals from around the world may apply to one of the following six initiatives, depending on their needs and objectives:

    • Public Pitch
      Pitching sessions for a selected group of projects in development, presented to an audience of renowned international industry professionals.

    • Rough Cut Pitch
      Pitching sessions for projects in the editing phase, presented to international sales agents, festival programmers, broadcasters and platforms.

    • New Tech Pitch
      Pitching sessions for non-fiction projects using emerging technologies, presented to professionals from the international tech and audiovisual sectors.

    • Speed Meetings
      15-minute B2B meetings connecting projects at different stages with national and international financing and distribution agents.

    • DocsBarcelona Campus
      An annual development programme structured around two residencies, including mentorships, expert sessions and masterclasses.

    • Artistic Consultancies for Rough Cut Projects
      Tailor-made artistic consultations for projects in the editing phase, conducted by renowned international experts.

    DocsBarcelona Festival 2026

    DocsBarcelona Pro will take place within the framework of the 29th DocsBarcelona Festival, running from 7 to 17 May 2026. The festival will once again bring the year’s most outstanding documentary premieres to Barcelona, alongside a rich programme of parallel activities and international guest visits.

    The 2026 edition of DocsBarcelona will feature five competitive sections, a major retrospective, and ten awards totalling €25,000.
