Doc Around Europe Welcomes Docudays UA and INCONVENIENT FILMS for 2026

Doc Around Europe Welcomes Docudays UA and INCONVENIENT FILMS as Guest Festivals for 2026

The Doc Around Europe network welcomes two new Guest Festivals for 2026: Docudays UA – International Human Rights Documentary Film Festival (Ukraine) and INCONVENIENT FILMS – International Documentary Film Festival (Lithuania).

Both festivals share a strong commitment to human rights cinema and public discourse, and bring distinct regional perspectives into the network at a time when documentary film continues to play a crucial role in shaping conversations across Europe.

    A Programme for Emerging Talent

As part of the Guest Festival programme, each festival nominates three films by first- or second-time filmmakers. Network members FIPADOC, DOK.fest München, DocsBarcelona, Biografilm, MakeDox and Verzió each acquire one of these films, making a selection of six titles available on the Doc Around Europe VoD platform for one year across more than 20 European countries.

In addition, representatives of both festivals are invited to take part in jury activities at partner festivals and to join a series of online sessions focused on sharing knowledge and strategies for supporting emerging filmmakers, curators and young critics.

Filmmakers of the selected films are included in the Doc Around Europe Talent Database and can apply to further initiatives such as development workshops and Meet the Experts sessions.

    About the Guest Festivals

    Docudays UA (Kyiv)
Founded in 2003, Docudays UA is Ukraine’s leading human rights documentary film festival and the largest of its kind in Eastern Europe. Each year, it brings together films, filmmakers and activists to spark debate. Beyond its Kyiv edition, the Travelling Docudays UA programme reaches audiences across the country. Since 2022, the festival has expanded its work in cultural diplomacy, promoting Ukrainian culture and responding to the ongoing war against Ukraine.

    INCONVENIENT FILMS (Vilnius)
INCONVENIENT FILMS is the largest documentary film festival in Lithuania and the Baltic States. With a strong focus on human rights, film literacy and accessibility, the festival combines screenings with educational formats and hybrid outreach, reaching audiences across the country.

With Docudays UA and INCONVENIENT FILMS joining the network, Doc Around Europe continues to strengthen collaboration across borders and to support emerging documentary voices throughout Europe.
