PRAISE THE SAND Wins the LIGHTDOX Award at European First Films Pitches

European First Films Pitches: Award Winner

We are proud to share that the LIGHTDOX AWARD at the European First Films Pitches was awarded to:

    PRAISE THE SAND
    Directed by Annina Lehmann (Germany)
Produced by Voices Films – Margarita Amineva-Jester (Germany)

The award includes €1,500 in cash, as well as tailored consultancy on festival strategy, marketing, and distribution, offering concrete support for the further development and positioning of the project.

PRAISE THE SAND is an essay film that returns to the filmmaker’s childhood landscape in Brandenburg. Through a personal and reflective cinematic approach, the film searches for possible reasons behind the region’s political shift to the right, weaving together memory, place, and contemporary social tensions.

The LIGHTDOX AWARD underlines Doc Around Europe’s commitment to supporting emerging voices at a decisive stage of their careers, and to accompanying projects that combine formal ambition with social and political relevance.

Warm congratulations to Annina Lehmann and the entire team behind PRAISE THE SAND. We look forward to following the project’s further development and festival journey.
