    Who should apply

    Aspiring and early-career film critics, journalists, writers, filmmakers, artists, or students with a strong interest in documentary cinema.

    Support for participants

    Through the Doc Around Europe festival network, selected participants receive:

    Costs: No application fee. A €75 enrollment fee applies to selected participants to help cover program costs.

    Tutor 2025

    Steve Rickinson — film, music, and media critic and curator based in Bucharest (via Brooklyn & Amsterdam). Operations manager and industry editor at Modern Times Review: Cinepolitical Documentary Magazine. With academic training from The New School (NYC) and University of Amsterdam, he focuses on documentary film, activism, and independent media. Steve co-founded Indiewood/Hollywood magazine in New York, continues to contribute to underground culture publications, curates alternative cinema events, serves on festival juries, and writes for cultural organizations across Europe.
