Biography
Anna Maria Beeck, born in Potsdam in 1993, studied Cultural Studies at the Humboldt University in Berlin and discovered her fascination for documentary storytelling while working at the Hans Otto Theater. After completing a Master's degree in War and Conflict Studies at the University of Potsdam and gaining experience abroad in Paris and Colombo, she began making her first television reports for “Rundfunk Berlin-Brandenburg” (rbb), a public broadcasting network serving the Berlin and Brandenburg region. This was later followed by longer documentary formats for public television, with which she successfully applied to the Film University Babelsberg, where she has been studying documentary film directing since 2022. SABAT is her first feature documentary.
