Biography
Antti Lempiäinen is a Finnish film director and cinematographer working primarily in documentary film. He graduated with a Master of Arts in Documentary Film Directing from Aalto University in 2020. His films have screened at numerous international festivals, including IDFA, DOK Leipzig, and Ji.hlava.
His latest film, Rooms (2025), is the final chapter of a documentary trilogy exploring the socio-economic challenges of contemporary Finnish society, following Solitaire Dance (2021) and Track Two (2022). Rooms won the award for Best National Short Documentary at DocPoint Film Festival in 2025. Lempiäinen’s work is marked by a strong observational approach and a sustained engagement with social realities at the margins of the welfare state.
