Biography
Filippo Tommasoli (b. 1990, Verona) is a photographer, filmmaker, and visual artist with a lifelong connection to the camera. Growing up in the family studio, Studio Tommasoli (active since 1906), he mastered analog and digital photography across reportage, fashion, portraiture, architecture, and still life. He holds a degree in Modern Literature and Linguistics and a Master in Visual Anthropology and Documentary Cinema, and was selected for ICP New York’s “Visual Storytelling in New Media” masterclass at Camera – Italian Center for Photography. Since 2012, Filippo has worked internationally as photographer, director, and DOP on commercial, cinematic, and documentary projects, between Italy, USA, Mexico, India, Africa and the Middle East. In 2017, he founded Tommasoli Visual Factory, producing award-winning corporate, heritage, and territorial storytelling. His movies and photographs won multiple national and international awards. He teaches photography and filmmaking at institutions in Italy and abroad, while pursuing personal projects exploring anthropological and social themes through photography, video, and writing. His work reflects a deep commitment to storytelling, cultural heritage, and giving voice to communities, particularly in advancing environmental justice and the right to clean water in disadvantaged regions.
