Biography
Máté Fuchs, a documentary filmmaker, was born in Budapest in 1986. As a filmmaker, he seeks a balance between self-expression and the accurate depiction of social phenomena. He believes documentaries are a tool for portraying complex issues with sensitivity. With experience in creative, observational, personal, reflexive, experimental, historical, and investigative documentary forms, he strives for renewal in both form and content, avoiding traditional solutions.
Máté graduated from the University of Theatre and Film Arts in 2019. Before that, he obtained an MA in Literature and Cultural Studies from Eötvös Loránd University. He began his doctoral studies in 2025 at Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design.
He is a founding member of the Hungarian Documentary Film Association (MADOKE) and the FreeSzfe Association.
