Biography
Mirsad Abazi is a film actor and director from Kumanovo, with extensive experience in both narrative and documentary filmmaking. Active within the film scene of North Macedonia and the wider region, he has collaborated with numerous artists and directors on independent and professional productions alike.
As an actor, he has appeared in a variety of short and feature films, including Everybody Calls Redjo, Farmers Blues, A Long Way Home, Sara’s Book, and The Bloody Money. Parallel to his acting work, Abazi has developed a strong interest in directing, focusing on socially driven stories and human themes rooted in the Balkan context.
In 2025, he co-directed the short documentary Antigona, officially selected for Sheffield DocFest, one of Europe’s leading documentary festivals. His involvement with the film went beyond direction, contributing creatively and collaboratively across all stages of its production.
