Biography
Nicolas Engel directed musical short films for ARTE, Canal+ and France Télévisions. Among them, COPY OF CORALIE (2008), which was awarded at the International Critic's Week (Cannes Film Festival). Also working for stage shows, he wrote the French adaptations of the musicals THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA, GREASE and CHICAGO (Théâtre Mogador, Paris), and received a “Trophée de la Comédie Musicale” for his work on Mel Brooks’ THE PRODUCERS (2022).
