Biography

Pablo García-Vizcarra (Cusco, Peru, 1990) is a Peruvian documentary filmmaker and cinematographer based in Barcelona. He holds a Master's degree in Documentary Filmmaking from ESCAC (Cinema and Audiovisual School of Catalonia) and has directed non-fiction projects across Latin America and Spain, exploring stories of people living between cultures, generations, and family roles.

In 2025, his documentary Wainitai: Finding Yourself premiered at DocsBarcelona and was subsequently screened at DOC NYC, the Valdivia International Film Festival, L'Alternativa, MakeDox, DOC.Coimbra, and FIPADOC's New Talent section, among other festivals. The film received several awards, including the Best Short Film Award from the Argentine Association of Independent Documentary Filmmakers and Producers at the Rosario Latin American Film Festival, Special Jury Mentions for Best Documentary and Best Cinematography at LimaDocs, and the Second Prize for Best National Short Film at Tabaca Film Fest (Spain).

In 2026, he was selected for ESCAC's Ópera Prima Program, where he is currently developing the feature documentary The Last Inca Princess, produced by ESCAC Studio.
