Biography
Sergi Wakefield is a screenwriter and director with a master’s degree in executive production (URL). He began his career in the industry as a script analyst and grants-application writer at Fasten Films within the Content and Development department, followed by a five-month internship at Lastor Media.
His work as a writer and director started with Els Hereus (2021), a documentary short selected at DocsBarcelona and Filmets. He was later selected for FICIE and Mecal with the short film Lennon (2022). In 2023, his team received a special mention at Subtravelling–SMIFF for the short film Lullaby, produced within the festival framework.
He also highlights his participation at FIPADOC as a member of the Young European Jury in 2023.
In 2024, Wakefield served as the screenwriter of the feature-length documentary Una razón de ser (directed by Oriol Gispert) for La Lupa Produccions, where he was responsible for structuring four years’ worth of recorded material.
In 2025, he continued his training in acting direction and writing-through-acting at ESCAC and wrote the short film El Cactus (directed by Héctor Medrano), which is currently in the funding stage.
