Biography
Lou du Pontavice was born in 1992 in Paris. After four years of studying literature, philosophy, and cinema at the Sorbonne, she joined the INSAS film school in Brussels in 2014, specializing in directing. Over the following five years, she directed several short documentary and fiction films, most of which share a strong documentary-based preparatory process rooted in close collaboration with real people.
Since graduating, she has worked as a screenwriter on both her own projects and those of other directors. Her first feature film, The Watchman (2024), was selected for the Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival, where it received the Doc@PÖFF Award.
